Navigating CyberGuard
CyberGuard’s layout is the same on every page: a collapsible sidebar on the left groups every module into categories, a top bar carries search and quick actions, and breadcrumbs under the top bar always show where you are. Your first stop after logging in is the Analytics dashboard, which summarizes compliance progress, active audits and top risks at a glance.
The sidebar
Section titled “The sidebar”The sidebar is organized into categories that expand and collapse like an accordion. What you see depends on your permissions and on the feature flags your administrator has enabled, so your sidebar may show a subset of the following:
- Overview — Analytics, Assignments, Respondent View, and Journeys for guided setup paths.
- Organization — Domains, Perimeters, Users, User groups, IdP groups, Role assignments.
- Catalog — Frameworks, Threats, TTP catalogs, Security advisories, CWEs, Reference controls, Mappings, Risk matrices, Document templates.
- Assets management — Assets and Business Impact Analysis.
- Operations — Applied controls, Documents, Calendar, X-rays, Incidents, Tasks, Control Plan, Workflows.
- Governance — Libraries, Policies, Policy Creation, Risk acceptances, Exceptions, Findings tracking.
- Risk — Risk assessments, EBIOS RM, Threat modeling, CRQ studies, Risk scenarios, Scoring assistant, Vulnerabilities.
- Compliance — Audits, Technical postures, Evidences, Summary.
- Third parties — Overview, Entities, Representatives, Solutions, Entity assessments.
- Privacy — Overview, Processings, Personal Data, Purposes, Right Requests, Data Breaches.
- Project management — Collections, Accreditations, Projects, Responsibility matrices.
- Extra — Labels, Terminologies, Object classifications, Asset classes, Settings, Data Wizard, Backup & restore, Experimental, Manage portals.
Selecting the logo at the top of the sidebar returns you to Analytics from anywhere.
Global search
Section titled “Global search”The Search… button in the top bar — or the Ctrl+K shortcut (Cmd+K on macOS) — opens the command palette. Start typing to jump to any section of the platform or trigger common actions, and press Enter to run a full search across all objects: audits, controls, risks, evidences and more. It is usually the fastest way to move around once your workspace has some content.
Guided tour and quick start
Section titled “Guided tour and quick start”Two buttons in the top bar help you get productive quickly (they are shown to administrators as long as onboarding hints are enabled):
- Get started — launches the interactive guided tour, which walks you through the sidebar step by step: domains, perimeters, the catalog, frameworks, risk matrices, audits, risk assessments and analytics. You can restart it whenever you like.
- Quick Start — opens a shortcut dialog for creating your first objects without hunting through the sidebar.
On your very first login, CyberGuard also offers to browse Journeys, run the guided tour, load demo data, or customize feature flags.
Profile and footer actions
Section titled “Profile and footer actions”The bottom of the sidebar shows your name and email. The three-dot menu next to them contains:
- My profile — personal settings, password and MFA enrollment.
- A language selector for the interface.
- Get started — another way to relaunch the guided tour.
- About — version and build information.
- Online docs — this documentation.
- Log out.
